StraTech Cares: Corporate Citizenship and Social Responsibility
StraTech takes social responsibility very seriously. Our core values of integrity, respect for others, and accountability are the foundation of both client and employee relationships and are personified in everything we do. Our sense of good corporate citizenship is demonstrated in the volunteer work of our employees and the commitments we’ve made to charitable organizations and staff. We are proud to support institutions working to strengthen communities and make them better places to live. When we raise the standard of living for those in need, we improve our own mindset and instill hope for a better tomorrow.
The Shade Tree
While in Las Vegas for a national sales meeting, StraTech donated time, money, and items to The Shade Tree, a local shelter that has been hit hard by the economic downturn; over five thousand in cash and urgently needed supplies were collected. The mission of The Shade Tree is to provide safe shelter to homeless and abused women and children in crisis and to offer life-changing services to promote stability, dignity and self-reliance. American Heart Association
StraTech actively supports and participates in charitable events for the American Heart Association. Recently, StraTech participated in a Heart Heroes reception at Umstead, recognizing the work of key individuals and organizations, as well as presenting checks to UNC, Duke and WakeMed to continue their research for the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
Efforts for Haiti
The headlines were distressing and the pictures were heart-wrenching. Along with millions of other citizens around the world, StraTech joined relief efforts to help those in Haiti. StraTech matched, dollar for dollar, donations made to the Haiti disaster relief. We chose three international charitable organizations — the Red Cross, Save the Children, and CARE — who could quickly get donations to those in need. Donations totaled almost $8,000! In addition to monetary contributions and matching funds, StraTech employees volunteered their time to pack emergency kits for earthquake victims.
Food Bank
A group of StraTech team members donate their time at the Food Bank in Raleigh, NC on a regular basis. For one event, StraTech was able to collect 66 pounds of food — about 56 meals — for the Food Bank. Other StraTech-sponsored food drives for the Food Bank are scheduled for the future.
Kramden Institute
Kramden Institute is a 501c3 charitable organization whose mission is to empower economically disadvantaged students by giving them home computers that have been refurbished by volunteers. This past spring, StraTech hosted a mini Geek-a-Thon® that brought together employee volunteers to refurbish computers. StraTech employee volunteers worked throughout the course of an evening to restore computers, getting them ready to donate to deserving students.
One Day Program
As StraTech continues to play an active role in the community, employees are encouraged to participate in our One Day program that offers staff one day out of the office, per year, to give back to the community by volunteering time and talent. Ways to volunteer include: assisting teachers at local schools through reading programs for children; providing support to local hospitals with a caring touch to newborns in the Intensive Care Nursery; participating in Habitat home building; or teaming with co-workers on a special project for the community.
Share Our Shoes
Share Our Shoes (SOS) is a non-profit organization in Raleigh, North Carolina dedicated to helping those in need of gently worn shoes. Each pair of shoes gives someone in need a smile and a chance to walk comfortably and safely during their times of hardship. It’s a great way to recycle shoes and help someone less fortunate. To date, StraTech employees have donated more than 170 pairs of shoes.
