How the Commercialization of IT Impacts CIOs

Consonus Presents at CIO Forum and Executive IT Summit
November 29 - 30, 2011
Raleigh, NC

Join featured presenter and exhibitor Consonus for the tenth annual Raleigh CIO Forum and Executive IT Summit. Developed by and for leading CIOs and senior IT executives throughout the Carolinas, the conference addresses concerns and critical topics of interest facing corporate leadership.

Presentation Description:

With every new product release or social network launch, CIOs are getting pressure from their employees to integrate consumer devices into the IT infrastructure.  The migration of consumer devices, like smartphones and tablets, into enterprise computing is making CIOs very nervous - and rightfully so.

There are, however, steps CIOs can take to control the impact of consumer devices to the organization’s security, manageability, performance, and network.  Developing effective strategies, policies, and technology solutions will better prepare and protect the organization from the inevitable infusion of consumer devices into the workplace.

In this panel discussion, we will facilitate an interactive dialogue that highlights real examples of the impact to organizations and IT infrastructures due to the proliferation of consumer devices within the workforce. We will also discuss how executives are dealing with this inevitable trend by developing effective strategies, policies and technology solutions to minimize the risk associated with the consumerization of IT.
