Product Manager
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and champion the processes for collaborating with Marketing, Sales and support.
- Sales team enablement for product(s); messaging, value proposition, positioning, cost and pricing models, training, business development activities.
- Develop and maintain all product related collateral, sales training and product roadmap communications.
- Manage all elements of the product launch process including value proposition, development, and execution of go-to-market plans and launch.
- Manage product revenue growth, attachment rate, and profitability through the creation and implementation of marketing programs, positioning, & messaging.
- Ensure that technology strategies and implementation are consistent with company product vision, goals, and timeframes
- For assigned projects, take overall responsibility for delivering the product to production; including requirements generation, hardware, firmware, documentation, general release, operations and support.
- Develop, publish and meet project schedules, keep all stakeholders informed of product status at all times.
- Product verification. Manage verification testing of product features and performance.
- Customer certification. Manage qualification of products with customers.
- Documentation; manuals, installation and customer guides, help files, application notes, tech support web pages, and release notes and/or FAQ*s.
- Comprehensive test plan development and execution
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams and work with partners to ensure the products meet requirements for performance, functionality, cost, schedule, quality, and reliability
- Identify, evaluate, and resolve development/qualification issues
- Assist in pre-sales engagements as necessary.
Skills and requirements:
- Self-starter that works well on a team and a close working relationship with an extended team, including Managed Services, operations, sales, customer support, Marketing, Professional Services, and Business Applications.
- Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Engineering background with experience in product management, testing, quality assurance, or certifying technical solutions.
- Effective organization, project management and coordination skills; ability to get the job done.
- Ability and willingness to take ownership of product.
- Thorough understanding of test diagnostic strategies and tools, strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of various root-cause corrective action techniques and tools.
- Ability to adapt to ever-changing situations and overcome challenges.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with any of the following;
- Symantec Enterprise Vault; archiving, journaling, discovery, File System Archive (FSA)
- Microsoft Windows, Exchange, SQL, clustering concepts and technologies
- Networking skills; CISSP, CCNA, IP Networking, VPNs, Security, routing, troubleshooting
- Storage; NetApp, SUN, HP; CIFS, NFS, SAN, Fibre Channel, iSCSI Virtualization; Cloud and utility based computing, VMware; installation, configuration, virtual center
