Client Systems Specialist
Primary Function
Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs personal computer systems and other peripherals; provides technical support for client operating systems and approved personal computer based applications; resolves Help Desk problem tickets and coordinates warranty work with vendors on all supported systems.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Screens, refers and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of end user IT equipment.
- Provides day-to-day technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware.
- Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.
- Maintains an inventory of all equipment, hardware, software and supplies.
- Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment.
- Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel.
- Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.
- May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects.
- May conduct training programs designed to educate an organization's computer users about basic and specialized applications.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and at least one technical certification such as A , MCP, MCSE
- 3-5 years experience supporting users on the Windows platform
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent knowledge of Windows XP and related client technologies
- Experience with SMS and Group Policy a plus
- Ability to identify root causes of issues
- Ability to prioritize multiple incoming tasks
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Position requires regular lifting of equipment up to 25 lbs.
